Learn the latest skills

Full STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics) program aims to show how STEAM skills can be part of everyday school life. STEAM education in Oulu is student-focused and community-driven, fostering a culture of collaboration and experiential learning. Through partnerships with schools, kindergartens, the University of Oulu, and regional companies, STEAM skills are integrated into various levels of education. The program aims to prepare students for the future by equipping them with the skills needed in an ever-changing world.

During the course, the participants explore the Finnish Curriculum and learn about key skills it emphasizes. The focus is on STEAM teaching methods, including the design circle for planning, teaching, and assessment. Visits to various schools demonstrate STEAM in action, with opportunities to try tools like programming, coding, and 3D design and printing. The program also includes a visit to Oulu's FabLab.
